

Born June 5, 1959 in Pekin to George R. and Opal (Canady) Hill, Sr., he married Susan Jean Schlueter on February 15, 1992 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one daughter, Nicole (Tony) Mountjoy of Keller, Texas; one son, George (Ashley Dehne) Hill, III of Pekin; two grandchildren, Adelynn Mountjoy and Easton Mountjoy; one sister Amy Smith; several nieces, nephews and cousins; his beloved dog, Tikka and two grand-dogs, Bailey and Sadie.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his best friend, Leonard “LJ” Miller.
George was a graduate of Pekin Community High School.
He was self-employed working in construction and concrete.
George enjoyed working in his garden and canning the produce he had grown. He also enjoyed drinking Busch beer with his buddy Phil Davidson.
An outdoorsman, he loved hunting and fishing, especially his ice fishing adventures with his buddies Charlie Cobb, Chris Hawkins and the Crew.
Most of all he loved attending concerts with his children and having fish frys with his family and friends. George was a devoted family man and will be greatly missed by all.
A gathering celebrating George’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
