

Born December 11, 1926 in Dillon Township to Gertrude Larimore, she married John Frederick Hintz on September 17, 1950 in Pekin. He died September 18, 2020 in Pekin. She was also preceded in death by her mother.
Surviving are two sons, Rick Hintz and Randy (Linda) Hintz, both of Pekin; four grandchildren, Jennifer (Roger) Burdess of Pekin, Randy (Tammy) Hintz, Jr. of South Pekin, Lisa Hintz of Pekin and Angela Hintz of Champaign; three great-grandchildren, Hayle (Tyler) Parksey of Madison, Wisconsin, John (Sarah) Hintz, II of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma and Madison Burdess of Pekin and one great-great-granddaughter, Alora Kay Burdess.
Goldie was a 1942 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
She had worked at Pekin Daily Times as a typesetter and had her own column in the paper titled “Red, White and Blue”. She retired 1976, after a 26-year career.
Goldie enjoyed reading, working in her flower gardens, traveling in the states and Europe, especially Ireland and working on genealogy. Her greatest joy was watching her children, grandchildren and great-grandchildren participate in their sporting events.
She was a 70-plus year member of First Christian Church in Pekin.
Her funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 31, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Mark Foglio will officiate. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday morning at the funeral home. Burial will be at Woodrow Cemetery in rural Pekin.
