

He was born August 3, 1951 in Pekin to Walter and Helen (Long) Deal.
Surviving are his daughter, Angie (David) Craig of Fulton, Missouri; two sisters, Sheryl (John) Vinovich of West Peoria and Linda Deal of Pekin and his fiancée, Wendi Sanders of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his parents and one sister, Kathy Hayden.
Gregory was a veteran of the United States Navy, where he was a radio operator for six years.
He loved football and was a Chicago Bears fan. He also enjoyed fishing, playing pool and watching wrestling. When able, he loved to hunt squirrels, pheasants and rabbits with his dad.
His private graveside service will be at War Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Pekin, where military rites will provided by the United States Navy and Tazewell Military Rites Team.
A gathering celebrating Gregory’s life will be at 12 p.m. Saturday, March 19, 2022 at First Norwood Mennonite Church, 6605 Jones Road, Peoria, Illinois 61604.
