Gregory W Scott

Born November 15, 1973 in Pekin to Winfred Franklin and Patricia Elaine (Greenwood) Scott, he married Dana Vice on June 12, 2004 in Bartonville. She survives.

Also surviving are his twin sons, Zane Patrick Scott and Ronan Forrest Scott, both of Pekin; his mother-in-law, Evelyn Steffen of Ft. Madison, Iowa; one half-sister, Vickie L. (Donald) Kierson of Midlothian, Virginia; and three step-brothers, Brian Dill of Florida, Craig Dill of Seattle, Washington and Dr. Jeff (Tonya) Dill of Pekin.

Greg had worked in computer technical support for Liberation Software in Tremont.

He was a member of the Celestial Group and was proud to have been sober for 20 years. He was a chairperson for Alcoholics Anonymous and enjoyed being involved with the organization.

A devoted husband and father, Greg cherished time spent with his family and especially enjoyed taking his boys on fishing and camping trips. He also was involved with his sons Boy Scouts activities.

His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Wednesday, April 2, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Michael Roberts of First Christian Church will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.

Memorial contributions may be given to establish an education fund for his children or to the Celestial Group at 1208 Maple St. Pekin, IL 61554.
