

PEKIN ~ Harold L. Hunteman, 84, of Pekin, passed away at 4:40 p.m. Thursday, May 23, 2013 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born May 17, 1929 in Mackinaw Township to Wilbur J. and Lois M. (Morgan) Hunteman, he married Amelia Carola "Mae" Berardi on May 9, 1958 in Pekin. She died September 29, 1997 in Pekin. He also was preceded in death by one grandson, Bryan Hoffert.
Surviving are one daughter, Patricia (Ron) Parmele of Mackinaw; two sons, Larry (Connie) Hoffert of Pekin and William (Sandy) Hoffert of Fairfield, California; five grandchildren, Troy (Tiffany) Hoffert, Craig (Lindsay) Parmele, Jeff (Jill) Parmele, Brandon (Brandie) Hoffert and Lisa Hoffert; five great-grandchildren, Matthew Hoffert, Mason Hoffert, Zach Hoffert, Russell Hoffert and Ronnie Parmele; one sister, Alberta Majors of Mackinaw; one brother, Dean (Mary Ann) Hunteman of Mackinaw; and his companion, Helen "Tootie" Stonestreet of Mackinaw.
Harold was a member of the First Christian Church in Mackinaw.
He had worked as a carpenter for C. Iber & Sons for 45 years, retiring in 1991.
He had been a member of the Pekin Moose Family Center 916 and the Isaac Walton League.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Wednesday, May 29, 2013 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Steven M. Rowell, Sr. will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
