Harriett Eleanor Schneider

She was born January 11, 1928 in Peoria to Edward and Augusta (Burkhardt) Arnold, she married Eugene Schneider on January 23, 1949 in Peoria. He died August 30, 2016. She was also preceded in death by her parents and two brothers.

Surviving are her three sons, Tom (Debbie) Schneider of Pekin, Randall Schneider of Spanaway, Washington and Kenneth (Judy) Schneider of Vacaville, California; five grandchildren, Mather (Ara) Schneider of Puerto Penasco, Mexico, Shannon (Jeff) Seiss of Pekin, Patrick Schneider of Oslo, Norway, Erik (Jen) Schneider of Puyallup, Washington and Jennifer Ivancie of Vallejo, California and four great-grandchildren.

Harriett was a homemaker, taking care of her three sons whom she loved dearly and was fiercely protective of. Her family remembers her fondly as a straightforward person, honest with her thoughts and words. She was content and happy through the last few years of her life. This last year, through the difficulties, she was tough as nails, never complaining.

Harriett enjoyed many hobbies such as ceramics, cross-stitching and crafting. She also loved gardening and she learned sign language. She volunteered at Proctor Hospital for many years. Harriett adored her animals, especially cats.

There are no services scheduled at this time, inurnment will be scheduled at a later date.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
