

Born May 2, 1925 in Manito to Frederick and Grace (Coombs) Durham, he married Grace Irene Stauthammer on August 1, 1946 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are three sons, Terry E. (Christine) Durham of Plano, Texas, Michael S. (Connie) Durham of Bartonville, and Scott D. (Becky) Durham of Alvin, Texas; one daughter, Sandra K. "Sandy" (David) Cannon of Glasford; ten grandchildren, Chris Durham of Colorado, Carrie Theisen of Des Moines, Iowa, Jamie Evans of Farmington, Craig Durham of Normal, Jennifer Cannon and Kasey Cannon, both of Glasford, David Durham of Champaign, and Anna Durham, Audrey Durham, and Samuel Durham, all of Alvin, Texas; and four great-grandchildren.
His parents, one sister, and four brothers preceded him in death.
A United States Navy veteran of World War II, he served from August 26, 1943 to March 10, 1946. He served aboard the USS West Virginia.
Harry worked for Corn Products Company in Pekin for 36 years, retiring as a supervisor on October 21, 1981.
He was a member of the Second Reformed Church in Pekin, where he was a former elder and had volunteered with church activities and projects. He was a 50-year member and long-time captain of the dartball team. He also was a member of the Pioneer Club at CPC.
Harry enjoyed traveling and fishing.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Monday, February 27, 2006at the Second Reformed Church in Pekin. The Rev. Ralph H. Cordes and Rev. Susan L. Curtis will officiate. Visitation will be from 2 to 4 p.m. Sunday at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel and also from 9:45 to 10:15 a.m. Monday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Garden in Pekin, where military rites will be accorded by the United States Navy.
