Helen I Jones

Born April 23, 1913 in Gridley to Michael Stephen and Ida May O'Hara Fulton, she married Harold Theodore Jones on January 2, 1933 in Peoria. He died April 4, 1989 in Creve Coeur. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Shirley Jones on November 8, 1947; one brother and five sisters.

Surviving are two sons, Jerry R. (Pat) Jones of Creve Coeur and Timothy J. (Monica) Jones of Trivoli; four grandchildren, Diane (Michael) Hemp, Daniel (Michelle) Jones, both of Creve Coeur, Thomas (Deborah) Jones of North Port, Florida and Chase Jones of Trivoli; nine great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson.

Helen worked from 1966 to 1968 as a secretary for the Jones Sign Company in Peoria. She then worked as a secretary for Screen Graphics in Creve Coeur until 1978.

She was a member of Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur and its Altar and Rosary Society. She also was a former member of the Timber Lake Country Club and Creve Coeur Home Extension.

Her funeral mass will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, November 2, 2005at Sacre Coeur Catholic Church in Creve Coeur. Father David Whiteside will officiate. Visitation will be from 9 to 10:45 a.m. Wednesday at the church. Burial will be in St. Mary's Cemetery in West Peoria. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel.
