

Born February 15, 1932 in Anderson, Indiana to Albert Russell and Helen Grace (Kirkendall) Stevens, she married Robert L. Richards on August 4, 1951 in Anderson, Indiana. He survives.
Also surviving are two sons, Steven D. (Jayne) Richards and Jeffery S. Richards, both of Pekin; six grandchildren, Brian (Stephani) Richards, Stephanie (Kyle) Rindfleisch, David Richards, Mitchell Richards, Megan (Nick) Pacelli and Nicole (Jake) Dunker; eight great-grandchildren, Blake and Noelle Richards, McKynley and Easton Pacelli, Piper and Remi Rindfleisch and Brinley and Blair Dunker and one half-brother, Albert F. (Mary Ann) Stevens.
She was preceded in death by her parents, one sister, Doris A. Litten and one half-sister, Amelia “Amy” Griszzeler.
Helen was a graduate of Anderson High School in Anderson, Indiana where she was head of the school newspaper. She was also the Executive Secretary for American Playground. Helen attended Indiana University in Bloomington, Indiana.
A homemaker, Helen was an excellent cook and was famous for her pies.
Helen was a longtime member of First Christian Church in Pekin, where she was very active in; the Christian Women’s Fellowship, Deborah Circle and the Christian Fellowship Sunday School Class.
Her graveside service will be at 11 a.m. Friday, July 22, 2022 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Mark Foglio will officiate. There will be no visitation.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
