Herman J Towery

Born April 14, 1939 in Tupelo, Mississippi to Herman B. and Verdell (Cole) Towery, he married Joyce M. Revelle on December 21, 1965 in Pekin.

Surviving are his wife; two sons, Rick D. (Sarah) Towery of Manito, Jimmy D. (Sherry) Towery of Pekin; one daughter, Theresa L. (Jerry) Reese of South Pekin; six grandchildren, Ashley and Brody Reese, Luke and Lily Towery, and Rachel and Ashley Taylor; six brothers, Jessee (Stephanie) Towery of North Pekin, David (Glenda) Towery of South Pekin, Allen (Carol) Towery of Delavan, James Towery, Ed Towery, and Russell Towery, all of Pekin; and four sisters, Betty Mason of South Pekin, and Alice (Jake) Bohannan, Sandra (Jim) Bennett, and Kimberly Rice, all of Pekin.

His parents and two sisters preceded him in death.Herman began working for Corn Products Corporation, retiring in 2003 from Williams Bio-Energy in Pekin after a total of 37 years.Herman served in the United States Army during the Viet Nam era.

Herman was a member of the CPC Pioneer Club and a former member of the Pekin Moose and Pekin Eagles.

He enjoyed fishing, hunting and old classic cars.

His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Wednesday, April 22, 2009at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Deacon Ernie Whited will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
