

Born June 29, 1934 in Houston, Alabama to Andy Milton and Edith E. (Box) King, he married Catherine Walden on February 11, 1955 in Tarrant City, Alabama. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother, Edith Sellers of Hueytown, Alabama; four daughters, Joy (Terry) Fonner and Janet “Jan” (David) Draher, both of Pekin, Sherry Carpenter of Sycamore, and Sharon (Pastor Ron) Simmons of Norman, Oklahoma; ten grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; two brothers, Robert (Jean) Sellers of Hueytown, Alabama and James (Mary) Sellers of McCalla, Alabama; two sisters, Margaret (Bruce) Scoggins of Hueytown, Alabama and Margie (Larry) Davis of Green Pond, Alabama; and numerous extended family and friends.
He was preceded in death by his father, step-father (Herman Sellers), one infant sister, and one brother (Max King).
Harold worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 37 years, retiring July 1, 1999 as a FMC Clerk in the material control department in East Peoria.
He was a member of Lord’s Table Church of God in Bartonville.
Harold was a man of great faith. His love for his Lord and Savior and his family was the highlight of his life. He also enjoyed fishing and was known for his great cooking. He never met a stranger.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Friday, May 7, 2010 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Ron Simmons, his son-in-law, and Pastor Todd Shaw will officiate. Visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Thursday, May 6, 2010 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
