James Allen

PEKIN ~ James "Jimmy" Russell Allen, 54, of Heartland, Wisconsin, passed away at 6:07 a.m. Thursday, October 18, 2018 in the Emergency Room at Saint Joseph Hospital in Milwaukee, Wisconsin. He was formerly of Pekin.

He was born August 6, 1964 in Covina, California to Jacques and Charlene (Williams) Allen. He was preceded in death by his parents; one grandson; two brothers and one niece.

Surviving are two daughters, Tabitha (Carl Downs) Cervantes of Peoria and Brittany (Donovan Yarger) Allen of Pekin; one son, Zach (Christen) Allen of Pekin; six grandchildren and one brother, Charles Williams of Texas.

He was a veteran of the United States Army.

Jimmy worked as a welder for 29 years, last working for Monarch Corporation in Wisconsin. He also served as a volunteer firefighter for Bartonville Fire Department.

An avid Chicago Bears fan, Jimmy enjoyed putting together models, shooting firearms and collecting firetrucks and football memorabilia. He also had a passion for reading and enjoyed a cup of coffee outside in the sun.

Graveside services will be held at a later date at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield. Military rites will be provided by Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be given to Bartonville Fire Department, 5912 S. Adams St., Bartonville, IL 61607.
