

Born April 7, 1945 in Englewood, NJ to John A. and Mary Caroline (Krochel) Collins, he married Peggy S. Fabry on October 6, 1979 at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his brother-in-law, Mark S. Fabry of Eureka; two nephews, Jeff Hyde of Peoria and James (Renny) Hyde of Pekin; one niece, Jennifer (Brad) Jockisch of Manito; one great nephew, Sean Aaron Hyde and two great nieces, Ayla Ellen Jockisch and Nora Diane Jockisch. He also leaves his beloved Maggie, who was his faithful companion.
His parents preceded him in death.
Jim worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 40 years in first operation at Building LL, retiring in 2004.
Jim was a great cook and loved camping. He also enjoyed gardening, woodworking and being outdoors taking care of his yard.
Jim will be remembered as a loving spouse and a caring friend to many.
His memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, November 9, 2013 at Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate. There will be no visitation. Burial will follow the service at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
