
Born July 24, 1932 in Milledgeville, Tennessee to Jim Franklin and Sallie (Richman) Crowell, he married Dorothy A. Brashier on October 16, 1954 in Corinth, Mississippi. She survives.
Also surviving are two daughters, Phyllis Pollard of Pekin and Teresa (David) Adelsberger of Normal; four grandchildren, Greg (Staci) Pollard of Morton, Angie (Roger Pechous) Pollard of Madison, Wisconsin, Nick (Leigha) Adelsberger and Megan (William) Owens, both of Bloomington; four great-grandchildren; and one brother, John (Sue) Crowell of Savannah, Tennessee.
He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, and three sisters.
Al worked for Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring October 1, 1984 as an inspector in East Peoria.
He attended First United Methodist Church in Pekin.
Al enjoyed gardening and going to auctions.
His funeral will be at 1 p.m. Tuesday, April 27, 2010at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, where visitation will be one hour before the funeral. The Rev. Tom Cone and Rev. Terry Edele will officiate. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
