He was born September 27, 1960 in Peoria to James and Denia (Pollock) Gosnell, Sr.
Surviving are his mother, Denia Gosnell of Pekin; one brother, Robert (Catherine) Gosnell of Pekin; and one sister, Amy (Robin) Wade of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Jim had worked for Garvey Marine in Pekin for 20 years, last working in 2005.
He was a person that was eager and willing to help another in need. Jim also enjoyed fishing, hunting and mushroom hunting.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Saturday, April 19, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Ed Ross will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will be at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
