

Born December 8, 1942 in Clinton, Indiana to Oscel Edward and Drucilla Leona (Burton) Lowe, he married Carla E. (Winn) on April 26, 1986. She died February 18, 2020 in Missouri. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one grandson, Nicholas J. Cochran; four sisters, Jenny Johnson, Wilma Bailey, Mary Britnell and Judy Davis and one brother, Drew Lowe.
Surviving are one stepdaughter, Lisa (Ticy) Bell of Mason City; one stepson, Don Strange of Mason City; six grandchildren, Josie Bell, Lindsey (Dalton) Guy and Lexi Strange, Winston Bell, Blazer Bell and Kendel ( Sam) Bell and three great-grandchildren, Kate, Koby and Jaxon.
Jim was a veteran of the United States Navy and Naval Reserves from 1960 until 1966.
He was also a lifetime member of the Ancient Accepted Scottish Rite Valley of Peoria.
Jim retired from Caterpillar, Inc. in East Peoria in 1993, after a 30-year career. He was a member of the UAW Local 974.
An outdoorsman, Jim enjoyed hunting and fishing. He also enjoyed playing cards and living life to the fullest following retirement.
No services are currently planned at this time. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
