He was born December 31, 1983 in Pekin to Martin S. and Dolly K. (Hasty) Morris.
Surviving are his parents, Marty and Dolly Morris of Pekin; his grandmother, Marcella “Sally” Hasty of Pekin; one son, James Martin “Jimmy” Morris, Jr. of Pekin; one sister, Marcella McMahon of Pekin and numerous aunts and uncles. He also leaves a fiancé, Antonia R. “Toni” Odell of Pekin and one niece and two nephews as well as many cousins.
James loved music and found his greatest joy in caring for his four year old son as a stay at home dad. He also enjoyed working on cars and electronics and had the gift to fix just about anything.
A private graveside service will be held Friday, June 3, 2016 in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to his family for the care of his son, Jimmy, through the funeral home.
