Born August 4, 1947 in Felton, Delaware to Francis and Ruth (Austin) Reese, he married Ellen Culbertson. She passed away in 1998. He later married Michele Reining on August 28, 2002. She survives.
Also surviving are two children, Michael Reese and Susan Stevenson; five grandchildren; three great grandchildren and one sister, Jeanne Carter.
He is preceded in death by his parents and one son, Neil Reese.
James is a veteran of the United States Air Force and received his Master’s degree from the University of Illinois in Springfield.
He worked for Caterpillar Inc.
Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. There will be no services at the request of the deceased. Burial will be at Prairie Rest Cemetery in Delavan.
