He was born March 11, 1963 in Pekin to James and Joyce (Hyatt) Spillman. They preceded him in death.
Surviving are two sisters, Jessa Oates of Pekin, Rena Knackmuhs of South Pekin; one brother, Joe (Monica) Carrington of Pekin; his girlfriend, Amy Bouchez and Amy's daughters, Jaeda and Jexxa Bouchez, all of Pekin.
Jim had been a self-employed contractor, owning Home Sweet Home Renovations in Pekin.
An outdoorsman, he enjoyed mushroom hunting, fishing and riding his Harley-Davidson. He also received great satisfaction from finishing a job.
A Celebration of Life gathering will be held at 5 p.m. Thursday, February 4, 2016 at the Eagles Aerie #1869 in Pekin. Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the charity of the donor's choice.
