Born January 9, 1976 in Pekin, he was the son of Jon Reid and Kathleen Renee (Palmer) Harris.
Surviving are his mother, Kathy Harris of Pekin; his aunt, Connie Picken of Manito; his uncle, Kevin Palmer of Manito and numerous nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father; his grandparents, Lyle and Ziggie (Jones) Palmer; Ken and Bette (Harris) Wallinger and his uncle, Steve Palmer.
A 1995 graduate of Pekin Community High School, Jami worked for Aramark at Wilson School and the Pekin Family Education Center, last working October 12, 2021. He also worked Pekin Public Schools District 108 in the summers doing maintenance.
He enjoyed deer, duck, goose hunting and fishing at Spring Lake, where he was raised. Jami was an avid fan of the St. Louis Cardinals, Dallas Cowboys and of NASCAR.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, October 27, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
