Janet Marie Hazlerigg

She was born on December 9, 1950 in Keokuk, Iowa, the daughter of Leotis I. and Sarah (Walker) Davis, Jr. Janet married John Wayne Hazlerigg, Jr. on August 27, 1994 in Pekin. He preceded her in death on July 30, 2021. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one sister Nellie Rose, and two nephews.

Surviving are her daughter, Malinda (Nick) Grafelman of Peoria; three grandchildren, Alan (Courtney) Thorne of Pekin, Megan (Austen) Reed of East Peoria, Jonathon (Kori) Grafelman of Pekin; four great-grandchildren Elijah, Sarah, Evie, AnnaLee and one due in August; 1 brother Dan (Sandy) Davis of Manito; one sister, Nancy Ferguson of South Pekin; several nieces, nephews and great-nieces and great-nephews; and her fur baby, Candy.

She worked at Ernie’s Family Restaurant in Pekin as a cook for 25 years.

Janet was a member of the First Baptist Church of Manito.

Her graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, March 3, 2025 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Larry Sauter will officiate.

Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
