

Born April 11, 1948 in Manito to Arvil Nelson and Irene E. (Hilst) Van Nattan, she married George John Maile, III on July 24, 1966 in Tazewell County.
Surviving are two sons, Anthony Maile and Keith Maile, both of Pekin and one daughter, Tina Maile of Pekin; fifteen grandchildren, Anthony Peak, Joshua Maile, Cody Maile, Rhonda Tandy, Tiffany Maile, Gaige Maile, Kelsey Cooper, Brett Knotts, Heather Knotts, Kalend Layne, Tyler Layne, Colby Maile, Austin Owens, Brodee Owens and Jesse Owens; four great-grandchildren; one brother, Terry Van Nattan of Pekin and one sister, Leota Underwood of Pekin.
She was preceded in death by her parents and two brothers, Harold Hilst and Virgil Van Nattan.
Jan was a former real estate agent for Clifton-Strode in Pekin. She also was a former business owner in Pekin owning and operating the Courtyard Bar & Grill on Court Street. She also had done in home day care.
Jan formerly enjoyed playing softball and played in several leagues including on the LePub team. She loved horses.
Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, September 20, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Jeff Leeman will officiate. Visitation will be one hour before the funeral. Burial will be in Meadow Lawn Cemetery in Manito.
