Janet Sue Potts

Born June 25, 1957 in Indianapolis, Indiana to Wilbur and Billie (Dedman) Rose, she married Ronald “Ron” Potts on November 12, 2000. He preceded her in death in 2019.

She was also preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Donald (Gayle) Rose and four sisters, Deborah (James) Glover, Ronna (Ronald) Funcannon, Sherri (David) Bradle and Lori Lusk.

Surviving are her sons, Jeramy Brosman and Christopher Potts, both of Pekin; two grandchildren, Colton Reader and Jacob Hammond; one sister, Christy (Ralph) Moore of Missouri; and numerous nieces and nephews, including Mallory Lusk of North Pekin, whom she shared a maternal bond with.

Janet had a magnetic personality and made friends wherever she went.

She dedicated her life to providing in-home care to her son Christopher since 2000.

Janet loved to spend time with her family. She would stay up too late and drink coffee with her sister and watch their favorite shows. She enjoyed all music, and especially loved singing karaoke. Janet enjoyed shopping and making a variety of holiday crafts. She was known for her extravagant Christmas décor and wreaths.

She had a special place in her heart for the autumn season and the first snow fall.

She attended New Life Christian Fellowship Church on Derby Street.

A memorial visitation will be held on November 22, 2025 from 3-5 p.m. at the Pekin VFW at 1232 Veterans Drive in Pekin. Drew Lusk will officiate the memorial service at 5 p.m. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
