Janice Leone Bruce

Born May 15, 1930 in Isanti County, Minnesota, to Levi V. and Carol V. (Conger) Larson, she married Merle Emil Bruce on August 2, 1948 at Hennepin County, Minnesota. He died on March 6, 2006 in Mesa, Arizona.

She also was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Sheldon Larson and two sisters, Gloria Turnquist and Marlys Ferrier.

Surviving are four children, Susan Bruce of Pekin, Steve (Nancy) Bruce of Columbia, Tennessee, Randall Bruce of Pekin and Linda (Todd Heiman) Bruce of Marquette Heights; three grandchildren and five great-grandchildren.

Janice retired from the United States Postal Service in Pekin, where she was a mail sorter and last worked at the counter. She previously worked many years at JC Penney’s in Downtown Pekin and then at the Pekin Mall.

Janice was passionate about golfing and playing tennis. She played in leagues for many years. She also enjoyed wintering in Mesa, Arizona for many years.

A private family service and inurnment will be held in Salem Lutheran Cemetery in Maple Ridge, Minnesota. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
