Jeannie "Jean" Barker

Born May 18, 1947, in Herrin to Charles and Joyce Louise (Thomas) Hickey, Jr., she married C. Michael Barker on December 21, 1974 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are three sons, David (Kim) Barker of Washington, Scott Barker of Pekin and Mike (Monty) Barker of O’Fallon; nine grandchildren, Mackenzie, Chase, Keetra, Cody B., Amani, Cody A., Mattie, Tevin, and Kiren; nine great-grandchildren and one sister, Diane (Bill) Wieburg of Pekin.

She was preceded in death by her parents; one brother, Charles Hickey, III and one granddaughter, Courtney Barker.

Jean worked in the office at Caterpillar, Inc. for over 40 years before retiring in 2006.

She enjoyed reading and watching reality television and was a big animal lover.

Her funeral service will be at noon Wednesday, July 30, 2025, at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
