

He was born August 19, 1952 in Peoria to Lawrence and Mary Francis (Vaught) Nelson.
Surviving are his mother of Pekin; 1 daughter, Nicole Nelson of Pekin; 1 grandson, Noah Palm of Pekin; his life-partner of 27 years, Patricia Pfeiffer of Pekin; 1 step-daughter, Karen (Matt) Nash of Pekin; and 4 grandsons, Zach Cherry of Las Vegas, Drew Cherry, Gabe Cherry and Gage Nash, all of Pekin.
He was preceded in death by his father.
Jeff was a truck driver for 27 years, retiring in 1999.
He was a member of Teamsters and Chauffeurs Union Local 627 in Peoria and Ducks Unlimited.
Jeff was an avid outdoorsman, enjoying deer hunting, fishing with his Dad, and duck and goose hunting with his friends. He also loved telling stories.
He was a member of Woodland Baptist Church.
His funeral will be at 10 a.m. Saturday, October 18, 2008at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. Rev. Joel Newton will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m., Friday, October 17, 2008 at the funeral home. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens.
