Jill Suzanne Koontz

Born May 10, 1956 in Peoria to George and Betty (Collins) Sweet, she married Larry Koontz on November 30, 1990 in Pekin. He survives.

Also surviving are two sons, Cortney (Danielle) Koontz of Green Valley and Shawn (Nicole) Koontz of Canton; two step-sons, Jeremy (Andi) Koontz of Portland, Tennessee and Justin (Holly) Koontz of Spring Bay; seven grandchildren, including Preston, Rylan, Avery and Saige; three siblings, Mike (Claudia) Sweet of Manny, Louisiana, Heidi Sweet of Peoria and Tim (Lisa) Sweet of Glasford and two nephews, Wes (Kaitlyn) Sweet of Mapleton and Kyle (Nicole) Sweet of Bartonville.

She was preceded in death by her parents.

Jill was a receptionist for OSF Saint Francis Medical Center in Peoria for 17 years, retiring in 2022.

An avid Peoria Rivermen Hockey fan, she also loved reading and going to the dirt races. She loved spending time with her grandchildren, who were her pride and joy, and loved going to their sporting events.

Jill attended Bethel Baptist Church in Pekin.

Her graveside service will be at noon Thursday, August 8, 2024 at Lancaster Cemetery in rural Glasford. Pastor Steven M. Rowell will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at Preston Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
