

Born August 29, 1932 in Elizabeth, New Jersey, she was a daughter of Albert and Elizabeth (Sherrier) Roehner. Her parents preceded her in death. She also was preceded in death by one son, Craig Dalton and one sister, Mildred Heller.
Surviving are one son, Glen (Becky) Dalton of Mountain Home; two daughters, Donna (Bob) Hurst of Pekin and Colleen (Stephanie) Dalton of Mountain Home; her daughter-in-law, Denise Dalton of Wisconsin; six grandchildren, Kara Dalton (Ariel), Kristin (Mike) Dalton Lee, Nicole (Ben) Hurst Donovan, Craig (Brittany) Dalton, Jr., Cherise (Greg) Dalton Friedrich and Christopher (Lindsey) Dalton and six great-grandchildren.
A longtime Pekin resident, Joan retired from Central Illinois Light Company, where she had worked both in Peoria and Pekin. She also had worked for American Distilling Company in Pekin. In retirement, she worked for Mauries Candies in downtown Pekin and then in gift shop at Methodist Medical Center in Peoria.
She will be remembered as a wonderful mother who dearly loved her family. She loved playing Euchre, Pinochle and board games such as Scrabble, Yahtzee and Bingo with family and friends. Joan also enjoyed dancing.
She was of the Lutheran faith.
Her memorial service will be at 2 p.m. Monday, November 24, 2025 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Daniel J. Bishop will officiate. Visitation will be held one half-hour before the service at the funeral home. Inurnment will follow in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
