Joanna L Doubet

Born October 3, 1912 in Greene County to Ralph Leroy "Roy" and Amy Lodell (Cox) Hopper, she married Vernon Arthur Doubet in June, 1938 in St. Charles, Missouri. He died on August 20, 1972 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by one daughter, Katherine Montgomery on December 26, 1990 in Atlanta, Georgia; and 2 brothers.

Surviving are one son, Vernon Leroy (Becky) Doubet of Canton; three daughters, Betty (Bob) Gucene of Mt. Dora, Florida, Barb Spelbring of Groveland and Judy (Keith) Bess of Decatur; nine grandchildren; and many great-grandchildren.

Joanna had lived on family farms near Hanna City and in Greene County near Jacksonville.

She was a former member of Faith Baptist Church in Pekin, where she had worked in the nursery for many years.

She loved kids and enjoyed gardening.

Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, August 19, 2006at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Greg Ogle will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to services at the funeral home. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
