Jody was born September 22, 1965 in Corpus Christi, Texas, where she spent a lot of time on the beach at Padre Island. Jody’s infectious smile and her kind and compassionate spirit made her loved by everyone who knew her. There is no doubt she was definitely one of a kind. She had so much love in her heart that it was impossible to contain the spread of joy that she emanated so warmly.
She spent over 25 years in the beauty industry. Her passions were singing, drawing, painting, and cooking for others. She would break out in a song with any of these.
She leaves behind so many that loved her, forever moved by her ethereal light that burned so bright, it went out too early.
Jody was preceded in death by her father, Darrel Wilson and her mother, Lilly Fine.
She is survived by her daughter, Devan Lynn (Ethan Bridson), who was the center of her world; her kindhearted grandson, Warren Dean, who made her smile and will do great things; two sisters, Darla (Mac) White and Dana (Tim) Miles; one brother, Adam (Michelle) Critchley; her nieces and nephews, Jayna and Joe White, Kyra and Chayse Miles and Nathan and Ethan Critchley; her stepmothers, Dana Wilson and Glenda Zane and the many who loved her, soul sisters and dear friends, who never stopped loving her to the very end.
She lives on in all our memories and we take comfort in the knowledge that she has gone home to her heavenly paradise that she came from.
Jody never belonged to this world that she blessed with her love and beauty. She now rests in Heaven with her soulful voice ringing out and forever in our hearts.
A special thank you to all who took time to visit her, sent cards and just held her hand.
A celebration of life and spreading of her ashes will take place on a beach at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in Jody’s name.
