

Born January 18, 1928 in Wallsend, England to George and Nora (Paisley) Curry, he married Eva Allison Milton in 1948 in England. She died in 1986. He later married Phyllis Lou (Bowen) Schaefer on June 17, 1988 in Pekin. She died April 8, 2013 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, William George Curry; and one brother, George Curry.
Surviving are one daughter, Alyson (John) Windland of East Peoria; one son, Steven (Shirley) Curry of Burleson, Texas; two step-daughters; Lisa (Tom) Eberlin of Peoria and Laurel (Vance) Franciskovich of Cuba; six grandchildren; three step-grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and one sister, Pauline (Noel) Hartley of England.
He had served in the Royal Air Force in England as a flight mechanic.
Jack worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 25 years, retiring in 1990 from the pattern maker shop in Mapleton. Previously, he worked as a pattern maker at Parson’s Marine in England.
An avid golfer, he was a member of Sunset Hills Golf Club in Pekin for many years. He also enjoyed woodworking, singing, and bowling.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Thursday, March 13, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Visitation will be from 9:30 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
