

He was born June 18, 1950 in Pekin to Walter B. and Mary A. (Westrope) Miller.
Surviving are two daughters, Erin (Tony) Jordan and Samantha (Mike) Budyn, both of Pekin; one son, Christopher (Jessica) Miller of St. Augustine, FL; two granddaughters, Elizabeth Miller and Emma Miller; his mother and step-father, Mary and Gus McIntyre of Pekin; three sisters, Sue (Dennis) Crowell and Gail (Bryan) Whitton, both of Pekin, and Christie (James) Steckelberg of Rochester, MN; his long-time companion, Christie Burton of Pekin; and his beloved dog, Ellie Mae.
His father preceded him in death.
Jon worked at Caterpillar, Inc. for 30 years, retiring in 2003 as a machinist in Mossville. Following his retirement, he worked at the Pekin Walmart for several years.
A life-time member of the NRA, Jon enjoyed target shooting and being in the outdoors. He was a gifted graphic artist in earlier years.
His memorial service will be at 11 a.m. Wednesday, September 10, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. The Rev. Gary Ford will officiate. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Wednesday at the funeral home. Private burial will be at Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
