He was born on June 27, 1949, in Corona, New York, the son of Joseph Richard and Wilhelmina (DeVries) Curley. He was preceded in death by his parents and brother-in-law, Ken Wheeler.
Surviving is one daughter, Monica (Dan) Kemper of Pekin; two sons, Bryan (Jessica) Curley, and Michael (Chris Zawicki) Curley; six grandchildren, Aaron Zawicki, Leah (Bryar Eldert) Kemper, Paige, Gabriel, Sylus and Hannah; two great-grandchildren Maya and Levi and two sisters, Maureen (Jerry) Garza of California and Lynn Wheeler of Connecticut.
Joe proudly served in the United States Army during the Vietnam Conflict.
He worked as an telecommunications technician for 45 years across the United States., retiring in 2000.
Cremation has been accorded to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
