Judith M McClain

Born May 23, 1940 in Peoria to Ross and Catherine (Sharpe) Hansen, she married Wayne Edward McClain on August 17, 1957 in Peoria. He died July 29, 1999 in Pahrump, Nevada. She was also preceded in death by her parents.

Surviving are three sons, David W. (Dodie) McClain of Ocala, Michael W. McClain of Manito, and Jim S. (Lisa) McClain of Pekin; one daughter, Cathy M. (Ken) Tarpley of Pekin; nine grandchildren; four great-grandsons; one brother, Daniel (Corky) Hansen of Pekin; and one sister, Nancy (Clarence) Noe of Sunnyland.

Judy worked for Methodist Medical Center in Peoria for many years, retiring in 1992 as supervisor of environmental services. Following retirement, she worked as a waitress in the tea room at the Pleasant Hill Antique Mall in East Peoria for 12 years.

Judy enjoyed spending time with her family and attending her grandchildren's activities. In past years, she enjoyed bowling and traveling.

Her memorial service will be at 7 p.m. Thursday, September 4, 2008at the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel, where visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. The Rev. Gary L. Ford will officiate.
