Justin Pence

Born April 27, 1979 in Sycamore to Steven and Candace (Helin) Pence, he married Cara Lanan on October 17, 2009 in Pekin. She survives.

Also surviving are his parents of Millbrook; two children, Carstin and Calyn Pence, both of Mapleton; one sibling, Jarad (Brittany) Pence of Sheridan; his maternal grandmother, R. Fern Helin of Yorkville and one nephew, Kutter Pence of Sheridan.

He was preceded in death by his maternal grandfather, Ronald Helin and paternal grandparents, Harold and Ruby Pence.

Justin worked as a supervisor for Weaver Popcorn in Forest City the last 11 years.

An outdoorsman, Justin enjoyed camping, fishing, boating and going to the Boundary Waters in Canada. He also enjoyed tinkering in his garage and was known as “Mr. Fix-It”. His greatest enjoyment was spending quality time with his children.

His memorial service will be at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, October 24, 2020 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the service at the funeral home. Guidelines regarding social distancing and wearing of mask will be followed.
