Karen Sue Brakebill

Born October 24, 1942, in Glasford to Charles Russell and Evalyn Marie (Rawley) Bitner, she married Ben Brakebill on January 1, 1982. He died July 26, 2007. Karen was also preceded in death by her parents; one son, Jimmy Glass; one brother, Gary Bitner, Sr. and four sisters, Beverly “Kay” Harrison, Shirley Dwyer, Linda Cornwell, and Vivian Harrison.

Surviving are two children, Teresa (Perry) Pennison of Morgan City, Louisiana and Charlie (Billie) Glass of Pekin; seven grandchildren, Amber Glass, Sabrina Glass, Tonya Burrell, Michael Vahle, Joshua Vahle and Amy Glass; two sisters, Renee (Ralph) Lawson and Terry Bitner; one brother, Charles Bitner and several nieces and nephews including Dawn Moushon and Robbin Harrison Purdy.

Karen loved her dogs, spending time with her family and listening to music.

She was a homemaker. Previously she worked as a housekeeper at Hallmark Healthcare of Pekin.

A celebration of Karen’s life will be held at a later date. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
