Kathryn Lynch

Born July 6, 1921 in Emden to Harm and Carrie (Miener) Tholen, she married Loyd Holton on November 27, 1947 in Pekin. He died September 16, 1966. She later married John Lynch in 1976 in Pekin. He died in 1998. She was also preceded in death by her parents, five brothers, and two sisters.

Surviving are one daughter, Myrna (Bob) Guengerich of Hendersonville, NC; two grandchildren, Julie Hutson of Seattle, WA and Steve Guengerich of Appleton, WI; five great-grandchildren, Greg Martin of Portland, OR, Robert Martin and Taylor Martin, both of Seattle, WA, Courtney Stephens of Lexington, KY, and Chase Guengerich of Culloden, WV; one step-daughter, Elizabeth Hale of Decatur; one step-granddaughter, Megan Hale of Chicago; one sister, Mildred Walters of Mason City; and many nieces and nephews.

Kathryn worked as a clerk at the cosmetics counter at Hackler Drug Store and later at Thrifty Drug Store, both in downtown Pekin.

A member of Faith Lutheran Church in Sarasota, FL, she was a former member of Trinity Lutheran Church in Pekin and Pilgrim Lutheran Church in Decatur when she resided in their community.

Her funeral will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, August 9, 2014 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Julie Hutson, her granddaughter, will officiate. Visitation will be from 1 to 1:45 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home. Burial will be at Lakeside Cemetery in Pekin.
