

Born March 21, 1937 in Hamlet, Indiana to Orville L. and Irene M. (Bernhardt) Cook, he married Frances M. Durr on July 24, 1963 in Pekin. She died May 14, 1996 in Pekin. He was also preceded in death by his parents; one son, Aaron E. Cook; three brothers, Donald Cook, Orville Cook and Richard Cook and one sister, Delores Baker.
Surviving is one brother, Larry (Alice) Cook of Morton; one sister, Gladys Kastner of Pekin and his daughter-in-law, Angela Cook of Green Bay, Wisconsin.
Ken was a veteran of the United States Marine Corps from 1956 to 1959. He was also a former member of the Fraternal Order of Eagles Aerie 1869 in Pekin and was a Golden Age Eagle.
He had worked at American Distilling Co. for 18 years and as a machinist at Caterpillar, Inc. in Peoria for five years, last working in 1982.
A gentle, kind and quiet man, Ken enjoyed camping, fishing and playing solitaire.
Ken was a former member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.
His graveside service will be at 1 p.m. Monday, November 13, 2023 at Maple Ridge Cemetery in Mapleton. Pastor Eric Swanson will officiate.
Arrangements have been entrusted to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
