

Keri was born in Jonesboro, Arkansas on January 16, 1977, and raised by Glen and Carol (Nelson) Smithee. She later moved to Chillicothe, Illinois, where she attended school and met many of her close friends. Keri and her sister, Melissa, enjoyed spending their childhood summers in Hardy, Arkansas where they would fish, swim, and enjoy the summer heat.
She is survived by her mother, Carol Smithee of Arkansas; three children, Brody (Cecily) Rennolett of Arkansas, Brandon (Makayla) Adams of Lowpoint, Emma (Jason) Heinz of Mason City; one sister, Melissa Sheri’ Carter; two grandchildren, Remmington Rennolett and Kolton Adams; two nephews, Connor Gillespie and Jackson Wayne Kersh; as well as many others who loved her dearly including, Luke Heinz, and Tim Bailliez.
She is preceded in death by her father, Sidney Glen Smithee and her grandmother, Ella Mae Smith.
Keri loved spending time with her family and friends outdoors, listening to music, and generally being the life of the party. Her happy place was being on the water and surrounding herself with people she loved.
Cremation rites have been accorded to Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. A celebration of life will be held at a later date.
