

PEKIN ~ Kerry Dale Hunter, Jr., 46, of Pekin, passed away at 2:30 p.m. Wednesday, January 28, 2015 at University of Illinois Medical Center in Chicago. The family takes comfort in knowing that Kerry is with his Lord.
Born November 12, 1968 in Lincoln to Kerry Dale and Linda Kay (Yeazle) Hunter, Sr., he married Lorna Wright on August 9, 1987 in California.
Surviving are his wife, Lorna Hunter of Pekin; his father, Dale (Lynn) Hunter of Lewisville, Texas; his mother, Linda Littrell of Lincoln; his maternal grandmother, Wilma (Billy) O’Brien of Lincoln; three sons, Jeffrey (Alex) Henson of Honolulu, Hawaii, Aaron Hunter and Billy Hunter, both of Pekin; two step-sisters, Rachael Newman and Jennifer Mollet, both of Lincoln; two grandchildren, Brianna Duffy and Hannah Joy Henson; and three brothers, Lonnie (Sherry) Hunter of Lincoln, Robert (Becky) Hunter of Yakima, Washington and Christopher Hunter of Lewisville, Texas.
He was preceded in death by his step-father, Dallas Littrell; paternal grandparents, William and Beulah Hunter; maternal grandfather, Laverne Yeazle; his uncle Billy Hunter; and his mother-in-law, Delphia Bartness
Kerry was a member of the Pekin First Church of the Nazarene.
He had served his country in the United States Navy during Desert Storm and Desert Shield.
He had worked as a security guard for G4S at ADM in Peoria for the last two years.
He was an avid fan of the Pittsburgh Steelers.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Thursday, February 5, 2015 at Pekin First Church of the Nazarene. The Rev. Scott Moore will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Wednesday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Burial will be at 1 p.m. Thursday at Camp Butler National Cemetery in Springfield, where military rites will be provided by the United States Navy and the Inter-Veterans Burial Detail of Sangamon County.
