

PEKIN ~ Kimberly Renee Morrissey, 28, of Pekin, formerly of Bloomington, passed away at 5:23 a.m. Friday, February 8, 2013 at Barnes-Jewish Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri. She lost her battle exactly two years and two months after she was diagnosed with acute lymphocytic leukemia (ALL).
Born July 19, 1984 in Bloomington, Kim married Justin Morrissey on February 17, 2006 in Pekin. He survives.
Also surviving are one son, Connor Michael Morrissey of Pekin; one daughter, Alyson Nicole Morrissey of Pekin; one brother, Jim (Teri Klein of Pekin; three sisters, Debbie Brockway of Morton, Connie Buley of Manito and Lynette Lewis of Pekin; several nieces and nephews, including Kailey Klein of Pekin; her mother and father-in-law, Carrie (Victor) Morrissey of Pekin; three brothers-in-law, Jon (Lisa) Morrissey of Pekin, Jeff (Arvada) Morrissey of Springfield, Missouri and Jeremy (Rebecca) Morrissey of Joplin, Missouri, grandparent-in-laws, Mary Lou (John) Albrecht, and uncle Steve Albrecht.
She was preceded in death by her mother, Peggy Dennison, and her grandparents, Thomas and Pearl Fenton.
Kim was of the Catholic faith.
A homemaker, Kim cherished time spent with her two children and loved spending time with her family.
Her visitation will be from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Private services will be held Saturday. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
