Born May 22, 1947 in Benton to Ray William and Jennieve Irene (Johnson) Dial, he married Debra Lynn “Debbie” Johnson on January 13, 1968 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are one son, Justin Dial of Tanner, Alabama; one daughter, Amanda (Bobby) Collins of Mackinaw; nine grandchildren, Nicholas Dial, Tessa Dial, Lydia Collins, Violet Dial, Tana Collins, Lachlan Dial, Zoey Collins, Ivy Dial, Ailee Collins and one sister, Nancy (Joe Neubauer) Dial of Naples, Florida. He also leaves a sister-in-law, Kitty (Ron) Robinson of Pekin; two brothers-in-law, Bob (Cathy) Myers of Saltillo, Mississippi and Greg (Sharon) Farmer of Tennessee and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents and his twin brother, Garry Dial.
Larry was a 1966 graduate of Pekin Community High School.
He worked for Commonwealth Edison for 30 years at the Powerton Station, retiring in December 2005 from the Fuel Handling Department.
Larry loved spending time with family and friends. He also had a gift as an artist and handmade wildlife carvings, toys and religious items.
His faith was important to him and he was a member of Grace United Methodist Church in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, June 7, 2022 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Pastor Eric N. Swanson will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday, and also from 10 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, both at the funeral home. Burial will be in Prairie Haven Cemetery in Pekin.
