

Born February 8, 1944 in Pekin to Harrison Corwin and Frances L. (Whitney) Rowden, he married Phyllis J. Fischer on June 13, 1964 in Pekin. She survives.
Also surviving are his mother of Pekin; one daughter, Debbie (Rod) Boerger of Decatur; one son, Jeffrey (Kelly) Rowden of Pekin; five grandsons, Jonathan Boerger, Grady Rowden, Caleb Boerger, Seth Boerger and Matthew Boerger; one brother, Dale Rowden of Pekin and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his father and his grandparents.
Larry was a 1962 graduate of Pekin Community High School and attended Western Illinois University.
He was a 52-year member and proudly worked out of Iron Workers Local 112 in East Peoria.
An avid hunter and fisherman, he was gifted at duck carving. Larry was a member of River Valley Sportsman Club and the Fellowship of Christian Anglers Society in Peoria. He also was a member of the Pekin Chapter of Duck’s Unlimited and their Sponsor Committee.
He attended Eastside Bible Church in Morton.
His graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Thursday, December 17, 2015 at Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin. Pastor Steve Weber will officiate. There will be no visitation. Arrangements are by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
