

Born December 15, 1919 in Bethany to Claude Edward and Ora Edna (Mitchell) LeSeure, she married Ervan Anthony Larkin on February 12, 1944 in Pekin. He died February 13, 1999 in Pekin. She also was preceded in death by her parents, one brother and three sisters.
Surviving are two daughters, Gail A. (James) Seaton of Delavan and Jan S. (Gary) Staker of Pekin; five grandchildren, Dustin J. (Jamie) Seaton of Delavan, Drew A. (Tara) Fitzanko of Pecatonica, Kami L. (Lance) Hawkins, Tonya K. (Jason) Hazlett, both of Pekin and Mandi L. (Luke) Arnsman of Pekin; and twelve great-grandchildren.
Lena was a member of St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin, where she was a former Sunday school teacher, a member of the Fedlis adult Sunday school class, and a member of the J.O.Y. Circle and the Senior Fellowship at the church.
She was a 50 year member of the Celestial City Chapter 333, Order of the Eastern Star. She also was a 50 year charter member of the Victoria Shrine No. 83 Order of the White Shrine of Jerusalem. She also participated in Tri-S at the Pekin YWCA.
Lena worked at Larkin’s Bakery in Pekin for many years during the 1940’s, 50’s and 60’s. She later worked as a clerk in the Dean’s office and Nurse’s office at Pekin Community High School’s East Campus for over 9 years, retiring in 1983.
Her funeral will be at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, November 15, 2011 at St. Paul United Church of Christ in Pekin. Rev. Dwight E. Borden will officiate. Visitation will be from 5 to 7 p.m. Monday at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin, and also from 9:30 to 10:15 a.m. Tuesday at the church. Burial will be in Glendale Memorial Gardens in Pekin.
