

PEKIN ~ Leo Trimpe, 64, of 10 N. 19th Street, passed away at 10:15 p.m. Saturday, February 18, 2012 at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria.
Born August 28, 1947 in Seymour, Indiana to Paul H. and Thelma (Cranhagen) Trimpe, he married Geneva Campbell on November 24, 1990 in Prestonsburg, Kentucky. She survives.
Also surviving are seven children, Anthony (Heather) Dyer of Kentucky, Marcus Dyer, Jeremie Dyer, Sheila (Lonnie) Braggs, all of Peoria, Jamie Dyer of Pekin, and Dana Jo Crawford and Lisa Crawford; thirteen grandchildren; one brother, John D. Trimpe.
He was preceded in death his parents; one son, Niki Trimpe; four brothers, Kenneth Bennett, Thomas P. Trimpe, Larry P. Trimpe and Richard C. Trimpe; and three sisters, Mary K. Simmons, Joyce D. Franklin and Patricia A. Trimpe.
Leo was of the Christian faith.
He worked in marketing and sales for many different manufacturing companies over the years.
Leo loved Indiana basketball and football, especially the Hoosiers and Colts. He also enjoyed traveling reading, writing and spending time with his children and his dogs.
His funeral will be at 1:30 p.m. Friday, February 24, 2012 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin. Rev. Steve Weber will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Cremation will be accorded following services.
Memorial contributions may be given to a charity of the donor's choice.
