Carl was born August 29, 1947 in Peoria to Henry and Signe (Helenius) Runge, Sr. He married Roberta Burgner on November 4, 2014 in Peoria.
Surviving are his wife, Roberta; one stepdaughter, Dawn Rodgers of Morton; one brother, Buddy Runge of Dunlap; one sister, Christine (Jerry) Morgan; and many nieces and nephews.
His parents and one brother, Henry Runge, Jr., preceded him in death.
Carl served in the United States Army from 1968 to 1974.
Carl was employed as an iron worker for over 40 years. He also worked on cars. He enjoyed racing cars at different speedways.
