Born November 9, 1922 in Decatur to Charles and Elizabeth (Baker) Brown, he married Lillian Lucille Althiser on November 17, 1946 in Pekin. She died March 22, 2002 in Peoria.
He also was preceded in death by his parents, one great-granddaughter, four brothers and three sisters.
Surviving are one daughter, Judith Horner of Manito; one son, Mike (Debra) Brown of Pekin; four grandchildren and three great-grandchildren.
Leslie worked for Caterpillar, Inc. in Morton for over 16 years, retiring in 1984. He previously had worked for Standard Brands in Pekin.
His funeral will be at 11 a.m. Friday, June 27, 2009 at Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Pekin Chapel. The Rev. Thomas R. Cone will officiate. Visitation will be one hour prior to the funeral. Burial will be in Lakeview Cemetery in Pekin.
Memorial contributions may be made to a charity of the donor’s choice.
