Linda S Harper

Born May 18, 1946 in Peoria to George William and Edna Iona (Chance) Barthell, she married Jack Leo Harper on December 1, 1973 in Peoria. He died April 15, 1998 in Peoria. She was also preceded in death by her parents, one infant son (Kenneth W. Harper on October 3, 1976), six sisters, and three brothers.

Surviving are two sons, Harold Butch (Cindy) Harper of Peoria and Jack Lee (Angel) Harper of Fountain, Colorado; two daughters, Amanda "Mindy" (Andrew) Roe of Sunnyland and Jennifer McConnell of Peoria; seven grandchildren, Harold Butch Harper, Jr., Billy Jack Harper, Jared Stien Roe, and Robert McConnell, all of Peoria, Nicholas Harper and Dominique Harper, both of Colorado, and Ashley (Nicholas) Miller of Washington; one great-grandson, Gavin Miller of Washington; one brother, Harold "Butch" (Doris) Barthell of Peoria; four sisters, Elaine Cote of Florida, Edna Mae Bessler of East Peoria, Donna Gray of Sunnyland, and Nancy Gestrine of Peoria; and several nieces and nephews.

Linda worked at the J.C. Proctor Endowment Home in Peoria for 18 years, last working in April 2006 as a CNA. Previously, she was a homemaker and did babysitting.

Linda enjoyed listening to country music, flower gardening, and feeding birds. She will be greatly missed. Linda was the cornerstone of her family.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 5 p.m. Tuesday, October 24, 2006at 614 Northeast Glendale Avenue, Peoria. Cremation will be accorded.

Arrangements are by the Preston-Hanley Funeral Home, Creve Coeur Chapel.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to her son, Butch.
