Born August 5, 1949 in Peoria to Samuel and Frances (Stewart) Riley, she married Fred Steele.
Surviving are two sons; David Steele of Havana, and Tony Steele of Peoria, two sisters; Fran Schlobohm of Pekin, and Anna Reeise of Florida, three brothers; Robert Riley of Pekin, Jim Riley of Missouri, and Ernest Riley of East Peoria.
She was preceded in death by her mother; and two brothers.
Linda was a caregiver for many years, she also worked in the dry cleaning business and detasseling corn.
She was a member of Havana Church of Christ in Havana.
Her memorial service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, January 24, 2014 at Havana Church of Christ at 350 S. Broadway, Havana, IL 62655. Rev. Warren Hughes and Rev. Bill Boise will officiate. Burial of cremated remains will follow in Laurel Hill Cemetery in Havana. Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin is assisting the family with arrangements.
