LouGene Williams

Born January 13, 1922 in Huntsville, Missouri to Eugene B. and Hallie L. (Summers) Jackson, she married Horace Leroy “Shorty” Williams on September 2, 1942 in Phenix City, Alabama. He died October 25, 1999 in Peoria. She also was preceded in death by her parents and one sister, Lenora Porth.

Surviving are one son, Ronald (Pamela) Williams of Mackinaw; one daughter, Joyce A. Williams of Carol Stream; six grandchildren, Kim, Todd, Geoffrey, Jenifer, Joydine and Brooke; nine great-grandchildren and four great-great-grandchildren.

LouGene and her husband owned and operated Williams Auto Service located at 304 First Street in Peoria for more than 30 years before retiring.

She enjoyed fishing, gardening and traveling with their RV. She was of the Baptist faith.

Private family services will be held. Cremation has been accorded by Preston-Hanley Funeral Homes & Crematory in Pekin.
